First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests if using a palm stimulator or a stress ball can reduce pain, fear, and negative emotions in children aged 6-12 during a respiratory panel test (a nose or throat swab). 35 hospitalized children will be randomly assigned to use one of these tools or receive routine care. The goal is to find simple, non-drug ways to make this common procedure less distressing for kids.
