New pain block could match standard for stomach surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07396545

First seen Feb 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a newer nerve block (EOIB) against a standard one (ESPB) for pain after laparoscopic stomach cancer surgery. About 184 adults will receive one of the two blocks, and researchers will measure how much pain medication they need in the first 24 hours. The goal is to see if the newer block works just as well, giving doctors more options for pain control.
