New spinal cocktail may keep knee surgery patients Pain-Free longer

Summary
This study tests whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard spinal anesthetic (bupivacaine) can extend pain relief after knee surgery. 120 men aged 18-65 will receive one of several doses during their operation. Researchers will measure how long it takes before they need extra pain medicine and watch for side effects.
