Spinal cocktail may extend pain relief after hernia surgery
NCT ID NCT06319859
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding morphine to the standard spinal anesthetic could provide longer pain relief for people having hernia repair surgery. Fifty adults were split into two groups: one received morphine plus bupivacaine, the other bupivacaine alone. Researchers measured how long it took before patients needed extra pain medicine and how much pain they felt. The goal was to find a better way to manage post-surgery pain.
