New study aims to ease pain after gallbladder removal

NCT ID NCT07582029

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study compares two common pain relief methods after laparoscopic gallbladder removal: injecting numbing medicine into the surgical cuts versus using an ultrasound to guide numbing medicine around the stomach muscles. The goal is to see which method better reduces pain and the need for strong painkillers. The study will involve 60 adults having this surgery.
