Targeted numbing shot aims to ease pain of keyhole heart surgery
NCT ID NCT06762288
Summary
This study tested a specific numbing injection, called a TAP block, to see if it could better control pain for patients undergoing a minimally invasive heart valve replacement (TAVI). Researchers compared the pain levels and medication needs of 50 patients who received the nerve block plus standard sedation against those who received sedation alone. The goal was to improve patient comfort and satisfaction during and after the procedure.
