First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a specific nerve block (external oblique intercostal block) can reduce pain after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a weight-loss surgery. Twenty patients aged 18-65 participated. Researchers measured how much pain relief the block provided and how much opioid pain medication patients needed in the first 24 hours after surgery.
