Nose job pain study: common painkillers may work as well as opioids

NCT ID NCT03584152

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at 159 people who had nose surgery (rhinoplasty) to see if a combination of acetaminophen and ibuprofen controls pain as well as acetaminophen with hydrocodone, a stronger opioid. Participants rated their pain on a scale of 0 to 100 over 5 days. The goal was to find a safer, effective way to manage pain after surgery.
