New pain block study aims to cut opioid use after neck surgery

Summary

This study tested two different ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to see which provides better pain relief after elective neck surgery. 102 adults were randomly assigned to receive either an inter-semispinal fascial plane block or an erector spinae plane block. The main goal was to measure total opioid painkiller use during and for 24 hours after surgery.
