First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special nerve block (external oblique intercostal block) can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after gallbladder removal surgery. About 56 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal will either get the block or not. The main goal is to see if the block cuts opioid use by at least 30% in the first day after surgery.
