Can NSAIDs replace opioids for elbow pain after tenotomy?

NCT ID NCT06373978

First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests if a common anti-inflammatory drug (diclofenac) can control pain after a needle procedure for chronic elbow pain as well as a narcotic (tramadol) does. About 92 adults will be randomly assigned to one of two groups and track how many pain pills they take over two weeks. The goal is to see if using NSAIDs first can lower the need for stronger opioids.
