New drug combo aims to ease pain and speed recovery after colon surgery

NCT ID NCT07414706

Summary

This study is testing if adding an intravenous (IV) numbing medicine (lidocaine) during surgery improves recovery for people having laparoscopic colon cancer surgery. All participants will receive standard numbing shots at the incision sites. Half will also receive the IV lidocaine during the operation. The main goal is to see if this combination leads to better overall recovery, less pain, and reduced need for opioid painkillers after surgery.
