New pain calculator aims to ease gynecologic procedure discomfort

NCT ID NCT07311824

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a risk-stratification calculator to choose pain medications for in-office gynecologic procedures (like IUD insertion or biopsy) improves patient pain scores and satisfaction compared to standard care. About 200 adults will be assigned to receive pain meds based on the calculator or their doctor's judgment. The goal is to see if personalized pain management leads to less pain and better experiences.
