New pain calculator aims to ease gynecologic procedure discomfort

NCT ID NCT07311824

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a risk-stratification calculator to choose pain medications before in-office gynecologic procedures (like IUD insertion or biopsy) can reduce pain and improve satisfaction compared to standard care. About 200 adults will receive pain meds based either on the calculator or their doctor's judgment, then rate their pain and experience. The goal is to see if personalized pain management leads to better outcomes.
