Pre-Surgery pain class may ease anxiety and cut painkiller use

Summary
This study looks at whether a short pain education session before knee or hip replacement surgery can help reduce pain and anxiety after the operation. About 70 adults having elective joint replacement will either receive a booklet and video about pain or get usual care. Researchers will measure pain levels, anxiety, painkiller use, and hospital stay length to see if the education makes a difference.
