New pain block study aims to cut opioid use after gallbladder surgery

Summary
This study tests two ways to numb the belly wall after laparoscopic gallbladder removal. One method uses a single injection to block nerves in the abdominal muscles, while the other targets the side of the abdomen. The goal is to see which provides better pain relief and reduces the need for strong painkillers. About 60 adults having planned gallbladder surgery will take part.
