New study tests better pain relief after gallbladder surgery

NCT ID NCT07241949

Summary

This study compares two different nerve block techniques to see which provides better pain relief with fewer opioid medications after laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery. Researchers will randomly assign 147 patients to receive either a paravertebral block, an external oblique intercostal block, or standard pain medication. The main goal is to find which method reduces pain most effectively while minimizing opioid use and side effects like nausea.
