First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a specific nerve block (intertransverse process block) can help adults recover better and have less pain after heart surgery. About 96 people having elective heart surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block or a placebo. Researchers will measure recovery quality at 24 hours and track pain for up to 12 months after surgery.
