First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a nerve block (intertransverse process block) to see if it helps adults recover better and have less chronic pain after open-heart surgery. About 96 people having elective heart surgery will receive either the block or a placebo. Researchers will measure recovery quality at 24 hours and pain levels up to 12 months after surgery.
