First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at three common ways to manage pain after open heart surgery: IV pain medicine, an epidural, and a nerve block. Researchers want to see which method helps prevent long-term pain that lasts for months after surgery. About 90 adults having open heart surgery will be observed, and their pain levels will be checked at 3 months after the operation.
