Personalized exercise prescriptions aim to keep frail seniors on their feet
NCT ID NCT07787663
First seen Aug 26, 2026 · Last updated Aug 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a tool called PACE can help doctors prescribe specific, tailored physical activity programs for frail older adults. The goal is to prevent declines in physical function and independence. Participants will follow a daily exercise plan for 12 weeks, and researchers will measure how feasible and acceptable the program is in a real-world clinic setting.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Tailored physical activity programs (PACE tool) with 35 exercise plans and walking goals, prescribed daily for 12 weeks.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a practical way for doctors to prescribe personalized exercise that helps frail older adults maintain independence and reduce caregiver burden.
- What could go wrong
- This is a feasibility study, so it focuses on whether the program can be implemented, not on proving health benefits. Results may not show significant physical improvements.
