Can a 'Love Hormone' help control diabetes?
NCT ID NCT06881459
Summary
This study aimed to understand if the hormone oxytocin affects how the body of someone with type 1 diabetes responds to low blood sugar. Sixteen participants with type 1 diabetes had their blood sugar carefully lowered while receiving either oxytocin or a placebo. Researchers measured how the body's hormones, especially glucagon, reacted to see if oxytocin played a role.
