Scientists test 'Love Hormone' for diabetes danger

NCT ID NCT06881459

Summary

This study aimed to understand if the hormone oxytocin affects how the body of a person with type 1 diabetes responds to dangerously low blood sugar. Sixteen participants with type 1 diabetes received either oxytocin or a placebo during a controlled low-blood-sugar test. Researchers measured changes in key hormones like glucagon to see if oxytocin could help the body's natural defense against low blood sugar.
