New oxygen monitor may give early warning for older surgery patients
NCT ID NCT07326293
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a special oxygen monitor (Oxygen Reserve Index) can give doctors an early warning before older patients' oxygen levels drop dangerously low during cancer surgery. Researchers will watch 44 patients aged 65 and older to see if the monitor's alarm gives enough time to prevent breathing problems. The goal is to improve safety for elderly patients undergoing surgery.
