Double-Duty surgery: could a simple addition during gallbladder removal slash ovarian cancer risk?
NCT ID NCT07642791
First seen Jun 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether it is safe to remove the fallopian tubes (salpingectomy) at the same time as gallbladder removal surgery in women aged 45 and older. The goal is to prevent ovarian cancer, which often starts in the fallopian tubes. About 300 women will take part, and researchers will compare complication rates between those who get the extra procedure and those who do not.
