Could a bone drug be the key to stopping falls in the elderly?
NCT ID NCT06118905
Summary
This study is testing if a medication already approved for treating osteoporosis (Denosumab) can also help preserve muscle strength and function in frail older adults. The goal is to see if this drug can reduce the risk of falls and fractures in this vulnerable group. Researchers will compare it to another standard osteoporosis treatment in about 155 men and women aged 65 and older living in long-term care facilities.
