Could a bone drug be the key to stopping falls in the elderly?

NCT ID NCT06118905

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication already approved for treating osteoporosis (denosumab) can also help preserve muscle strength and function in frail older adults living in nursing homes or assisted living. The goal is to see if this drug can reduce the risk of dangerous falls and fractures by improving both bone and muscle health. Researchers will compare it to another standard osteoporosis treatment in about 155 participants over one year.
