Pregnancy bodywork study halted early – too few volunteers
NCT ID NCT06570395
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at whether osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) – a type of hands-on bodywork – given during the last three months of pregnancy could shorten labor, reduce pain medicine use, and lower the chance of complications like tears or C-sections. Only 5 pregnant people signed up before the study was stopped, so no reliable conclusions can be drawn. The research was designed to gather knowledge, not to test a cure or treatment.
