Special night lenses show promise in slowing Kids' nearsightedness

NCT ID NCT07294404

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether orthokeratology (OK) lenses, worn overnight, can slow the worsening of nearsightedness in children aged 8 to 15. The lenses reshape the cornea to change how light focuses on the retina, which may reduce eye growth. Researchers measured changes in eye length and retinal focus over one year in 53 participants.
