Special lenses may slow nearsightedness in kids
NCT ID NCT07294404
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether orthokeratology (OK) lenses, worn overnight, can slow the worsening of nearsightedness in children. 53 children aged 8 to 15 with mild to moderate myopia participated. The lenses work by changing how light focuses on the retina, which may reduce eye growth. The study measured changes in eye length and retinal focus over one year.
