Summary
This small early study is testing whether a drink containing ketone esters can improve how the heart works in people who have both type 2 diabetes and heart failure with reduced pumping ability. Ten adults will take the drink once and then daily for a week while researchers measure heart function with MRI scans and track walking distance. The goal is to learn if ketones, which the heart can use for fuel without needing insulin, might offer a new way to support heart function in this population.
