Brushing teeth could save stroke patients from deadly pneumonia
NCT ID NCT07382089
Summary
This study tested whether a structured oral hygiene program could prevent pneumonia in hospitalized stroke patients. Researchers compared 90 stroke patients who received enhanced oral care from trained nurses against similar patients who received standard care. The results show whether this simple, low-cost approach reduces dangerous lung infections in vulnerable patients.
