New study aims to boost HIV prevention in meth-using men

NCT ID NCT06637436

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests two approaches to help men who have sex with men and use methamphetamine get HIV prevention (PrEP) or treatment (ART) medication. About 400 men will be randomly assigned to receive either contingency management (rewards for filling prescriptions) alone or combined with motivational interviewing. The goal is to see which method works better at getting them to fill their medication and reduce risky behaviors.
