First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a patient's gender, weight, and kidney function to calculate the first dose of the blood thinner heparin helps reach the target level faster than using a standard dose based only on weight. About 145 adults with conditions like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, atrial fibrillation, or mechanical heart valves will take part. The goal is to improve treatment speed and reduce the risk of under- or over-dosing.
