First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a decision-making tool, which includes a quick finger-prick blood test, helps general practitioners better decide which children with stomach pain need to go to the hospital for possible appendicitis. About 566 children aged 4 to 18 will take part. The goal is to safely reduce unnecessary referrals while catching true cases of appendicitis early.
