Timing matters: study seeks to improve preterm birth prediction

NCT ID NCT06822647

First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study aims to find the best time during a routine pregnancy ultrasound to measure the cervix, which helps predict preterm birth risk. About 550 pregnant individuals will be randomly assigned to have their cervical length measured either at the start or end of their anatomy scan. Researchers will also compare two types of ultrasound images to see which gives more accurate measurements. The goal is to improve screening without adding extra risk.
