VA tests automatic Sign-Up to help more smokers quit
NCT ID NCT03477435
Summary
This study tested whether automatically referring smokers to quit-smoking programs (unless they decline) works better than asking them to actively sign up. Researchers compared these two approaches among 1,365 veterans at VA clinics in New York. The goal was to see which method gets more people to accept help and actually use quit-smoking services like phone counseling and text support.
