First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a cell therapy called OpRegen in 60 people with geographic atrophy, a severe form of dry age-related macular degeneration that causes blind spots. The goal is to see if surgeons can safely deliver the cells to the right spot in the eye and if the treatment can improve retinal structure. Participants must already have had cataract surgery and have vision between 20/80 and 20/200 in the treated eye.
