First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether avoiding opioids during gallbladder surgery helps patients recover better. Fifty adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal were randomly assigned to receive either opioid-free or standard opioid-based pain medicines. The main goal was to measure their recovery quality 24 hours after surgery using a patient-reported questionnaire. The results will help doctors choose safer pain management options.
