First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether avoiding opioid painkillers during heart bypass surgery helps elderly patients recover faster. Researchers will compare opioid-free anesthesia to standard opioid-based anesthesia in 60 patients aged 65 and older. The goal is to see if it reduces time on a breathing machine, confusion after surgery, and the need for extra pain medicine.
