New hope for shingles nerve pain: drug trial underway

Summary
This study tests a new drug called ONO-1110 to see if it can safely reduce pain in people with postherpetic neuralgia, a type of nerve pain that continues after a shingles rash heals. About 140 Japanese adults with pain lasting at least 3 months will receive either the drug or a placebo for 8 weeks. The main goal is to measure how much their average daily pain score drops by the end of treatment.
