Summary

This study tests whether an 8-week online Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program can help healthcare professionals recover from work-related stress and reduce burnout. Participants who provide direct patient care will either join the online program or be placed on a wait-list. Researchers will track changes in stress recovery, anxiety, depression, and well-being over six months, and will also measure stress hormones from hair samples.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Online Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program
What this could lead to
If effective, this online program could offer a practical, accessible way to reduce stress and burnout among healthcare workers, improving their mental health and quality of life.
What could go wrong
The trial is relatively small and relies on self-reported questionnaires, so results may not apply broadly. The benefits of mindfulness can vary widely between individuals, and the program requires consistent participation.
