Could a single day of brain zaps and a pill curb suicidal urges in BPD?
NCT ID NCT07460947
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests a new one-day treatment for adults with borderline personality disorder (BPD) who have recent suicidal thoughts. The treatment combines a medication (D-cycloserine) with up to 20 short sessions of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) over a single day. Researchers want to see if the approach is acceptable to patients and whether it reduces suicidal thinking and other BPD symptoms over the following weeks.
