Old drug, new hope: could a simple pill stop a dangerous complication?

NCT ID NCT06861010

Summary

This study is testing if ondansetron, a drug often used for nausea, can prevent pancreatitis (a painful pancreas inflammation) after a common medical procedure called ERCP. The trial will involve 44 adults who need an ERCP for bile or pancreas issues. Researchers will give participants either ondansetron or a placebo before the procedure to see which group has fewer cases of pancreatitis.
