New 'Artificial Pancreas' system put to the test against standard insulin pumps

NCT ID NCT05409131

Summary

This study tested whether the Omnipod 5 automated insulin delivery system helps adults with type 1 diabetes manage their blood sugar better than their usual insulin pump. For 90 days, about 200 participants either used the new Omnipod 5 system or continued with their personal pump while wearing a continuous glucose monitor. Researchers measured how much time people spent in their target blood sugar range and how the treatment affected their daily life and diabetes-related stress.
