First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking omeprazole (a heartburn drug) and low-dose aspirin daily for about a month can help prevent colon polyps in people at high risk. 21 adults with a history of many polyps took both pills before their first meal each day. Researchers took small tissue samples before and after treatment to check for changes linked to cancer prevention.
