Algae vs. fish: which Omega-3 source wins the absorption race?

NCT ID NCT07241377

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests how well the body absorbs omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from two different algae sources compared to a fish oil source and a placebo. Healthy adults aged 18-64 will take their assigned supplement for 6 weeks, and researchers will measure omega-3 levels in their blood. The goal is to see if algae-based omega-3 is absorbed as well as fish-based omega-3.
