Summary
This study tested whether olanzapine, a drug typically used for mental health conditions, can reduce the discomfort of chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Fifty adults with stable tinnitus for at least 6 months took either olanzapine or a placebo in a crossover design. The goal was to see if the drug lowers tinnitus-related distress and loudness.
