Heart attack diagnosis revolution? new method could save lives

NCT ID NCT06570759

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study compares a new method for diagnosing heart attacks—focusing on whether a coronary artery is fully blocked (occlusion) or not—to the standard ST-elevation approach. Researchers will enroll 6,000 adults with suspected heart attacks to see if the new method better predicts artery blockages, limits heart damage, and reduces deaths or hospital readmissions. The goal is to improve diagnosis and treatment decisions.
