First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at how the body handles carbohydrates and fats after eating, in African American and white adults with obesity. Participants will eat a standard or low-carb meal before and after losing about 16-18% of their weight through a low-calorie diet or gastric bypass surgery. The goal is to understand how weight loss changes insulin, blood sugar, and other metabolic signals.
